= Compact course on Adaptive Cartesian tessellation for computational fluid dynamics = by ''Josy P. Pullockara'' Scientist, Computational and Theoretical Fluid Dynamics Division, National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore Venue: TIFR-CAM Dates: 8 and 9 January 2015 '''Abstract''' We take a look at some of the works carried out by researchers on adaptive Cartesian methods and its current state of the art with reference to computational fluid dynamics. We will discuss various algorithms that are crucial for efficient grid generation and their data structures for efficient storage. Implementations of the finite volume schemes on adaptive Cartesian grids will also be discussed with reference to boundary conditions, crucial, particularly for this type of grid. High order spatial and time integration will be discussed with reference to the Cartesian grid framework touching upon filtering for LES type implementations. Adaptive mesh refinement based on solutions will be introduced for solution efficiency. '''Schedule''' There will be four lectures spread over two days. 8 January 2015 (Thursday) * Lecture 1: 10:00am to 11:30am * Lecture 2: 1:45pm to 3:15pm 9 January 2015 (Friday) * Lecture 3: 10:00am to 11:30am * Lecture 4: 2:00pm to 3:30pm
