My Interests
Research: My research interests lie in connecting mathematics with life sciences, social sciences and engineering.
That is, I am interested in solving problems that arise in the real world.
Often this means that I must first formulate a question associated with the underlying problem or phenomenon of interest.
Therefore problem formulation is a large part of my research work. To read more about my research interests click

Teaching: I am interested in bringing mathematics and science to a larger audience. I am working on a newly established ICTS
program that encourages Academia-Industry Partnership in Science and Mathematics for young adults. 2010-2011 is the
first year of this program.
I am also interested in mathematical pedagogy for primary school children- in particular for the girl child.
An important issue here is one of scaling quality mathematical education for the masses.
I am working with a foundation whose main goal is education and nutrition of the girl child.
