Discrete spectrum of complementary series of SO(n,1) restricted to subgroups.
Abstract
We show that certain complementary series representations close to derived functor modules of SO(n,1) contain discretely, upon restriction to SO(n-1,1), complementary series of a similar nature. this has applications to results on spectral gap of the Laplacian on differential forms on locally symmetric spaces.
