The Chair on mathematics of complex systems is supported by Airbus Corporate Foundation. The Chair is jointly managed by TIFR-CAM and ICTS. It aims to develop innovative research involving theoretical, applied, and computational work in the general areas of control theory, data assimilation, dynamical systems, optimal design problems, inverse problems, stochastic analysis and numerical methods, turbulence, and other related areas. The incumbents of the Chair are Prof. Mythily Ramaswamy and Prof. Spenta Wadia (ICTS-TIFR). Some of the main research themes are

 * Dynamical systems, stochastic analysis, and data assimilation
 * Homogenization and inverse problems
 * Control and stabilization of complex systems
 * Numerical schemes for fluid flows and Uncertainty Quantification
 * Inertial particles in turbulent flows

The following research groups of ICTS are involved in the activities of the Airbus chair.
 * Astrophysical relativity
 * Data assimilation and dynamical systems
 * Statistical physics and turbulence
For more information on ICTS activities, visit their website here.
